Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a quiet area of Montreal Island called West Island. The West Island can be confusing to people unfamiliar to its significance. It is often believed that it's an island located that lies west of Montreal, but it's actually the West Island encompasses everything between the two cities in Lachine and West. Amanda Brugel is said to be born on the West Island. But this isn't the truth. Brugel was an aspiring young lady in Courtice Ontario, just outside Oshawa. She initially wanted to pursue a career as an actress however, after a rapid growth spurt her partners were no longer able to dance with her. The article she wrote about her experience revealed written by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall, even when she wears heels. The moment I outgrew the size of my male companion then I slowed down. Former dancers often turn into acting. In the case of Brugel, it was the result of a recommendation from her high school drama teacher. One of her teachers suggested she take part in an audition for the annual school production. She was chosen to play the main part for Anne of Green Gables after she auditioned for. She was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program which she completed at the age of 20 with a degree of Bachelor's in Fine Arts. The career of Brugel spans more than twenty years, and she's appeared in 60 different productions including big screen productions and smaller ones. Her most recognizable role was that of Rita (pictured beneath) on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian of the season 1 The Handmaid's Tale cast and seen only occasionally, was the sole Canadian.
